RESPONSIBLITIES

Self Employed - responsible for completing analysis of the Austria customer base into new customer profile and developing a migration strategy from legacy wide area network solutions (ATM, Frame, Leased Lines) to next generation network solutions and services (NGN).

ACHIEVEMENTS

Settled into Austria lifestyle and culture, have learned German, reading, writing and speaking to a solid introduction level of A2. Now working on improving to business level German B2. We have completed a detailed examination of all customer accesses and networks within Austria. A new database reporting system has been completed grouping services into new customer profiles based on their needs and buying criteria. A migration programme presentation is underway for board approval.

Attended an excellent 3 month intensive German language course at the Dialoge Sprachinstitut. A critical prerequisite to working in Europe, it has also enabled me to communicate with friends, colleagues and customers.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Associate Director - Next Generation Services, responsible for a $60M P&L for Data Networks (ATM, Ethernet, Frame and IP VPN) Value Added Services (VAS), Voice over IP (VoIP) and Wireless LAN in Western Canada.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Developed product plan linking to business plan objectives and targets. Working together with Service Development responsible for Bell's regional think tank to develop new end-to-end processes, improving customer service and reducing provisioning intervals. Developed a local access strategy to extend the on-net footprint using DSL, Satellite and Wireless solutions. Delivered product training for all levels of staff.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Product Manager - responsible for the Business IP (BIP) network. Business IP is eircom's brand name for Irelands Cisco powered MPLS IP/VPN network.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Provided strategic direction & leadership, across multiple departments. Managed profitability and provided financial reporting to the executive. Supported our Sales and Marketing teams, which lead to our exceeding revenue targets $9M. In addition to process improvements, launched 5 new product developments for the portfolio. Provided support to network services, including forecasts and capacity management.


February 2002 to February 2003

eircom net

Product Manager - responsible for security portfolio. Planned the best way forward to ensure growth as measured by increases in contribution to profit in the P&L statement. Included monitoring of budgets, sales, billing and financial statements. Negotiated with suppliers to maximise margins, delivery, support, training, marketing and so maintain good working partnerships. Selected and set-up vulnerability assessment reporting tools for use as a sales tool. Provided training for technical support, implementation and sales staff.


October 2000 to January 2002

eircom net

Product Manager - responsible for eircom learning. Building on the work of the Information Age Schools project, developed a business plan and launched a set of products and services tailored specifically for the education market in Ireland.

Selected best of breed applications for education, negotiated and signed exclusive distribution agreements for eircom, worked with marketing to design a complete set of brochures. Helped to launch a magazine specifically designed to reach the education sector. Designed an audit process for schools called the schools health check as a sales tool.

Established an excellent working relationship with the department of education's national centre for training in education (NCTE) and the 30 education centres around the country.


September 97 to May 2000

Easynet South Coast

Business Development Manager - Education

Initiated and developed the education department of Pavilion Internet, merged with Easynet, from introductory training for teachers using dial-up connections, through to 0820 Local Area Network solutions for more than 500 Schools, on to consultancy with today's regional broadband consortia.

Oversaw the creation and project management of SchoolNet. This included working with Net Escape on the design and creation of the SchoolNet web site.

Identified special needs in the education market place resulting in the specification and assistance in the project management of the NINAA suite of software for Schools.
